Το Lazer Contactless Reader επιτρέπει την ανάγνωση των δεδομένων του οχήματος CAN-Hi και CAN-Lo χωρίς πραγματική σύνδεση μετάλλου με μέταλλο μεταξύ της διεπαφής και της καλωδίωσης CAN του οχήματος. Ο αναγνώστης είναι ασφαλισμένος γύρω από ένα τμήμα της καλωδίωσης CAN Bus του οχήματος και τα δεδομένα διαβάζονται με επαγωγική μέθοδο, προστατεύοντας έτσι τυχόν εγγύηση του κατασκευαστή.
Αυτή η έκδοση του αναγνώστη χωρίς επαφή λειτουργεί σε 5v και είναι άμεσα συμβατή με τη διασύνδεση διαύλου Lazer CAN, απλά (απο)συνδέοντας το κιτ καλωδίωσης της διεπαφής.
Μια ενδεικτική λυχνία LED στη συσκευή ανάγνωσης ανέπαφων επιβεβαιώνει τη λήψη δεδομένων CAN.
